12/14/14

One of the best Saturdays in Romania, it was in Lapusata.

A couple of weeks ago we went to a school in the outside of Vâlcea. It was one of the best Saturdays. We were greeted with music and games, and we taught activities that we have learned throughout EVS.

We got the opportunity to talk about our countries and they talked about Romania. It was a wonderful knowledge exchanges.

Then at midday we were invited with typical foods and drinks. The kids gave us flowers and a lot of hugs.

At the end of the day, we went to a pottery workshop, where we learned the process of preparation.
Wonderful Saturday.

It was a really long day, we ended up with the tired body, but the soul full of energy.

Mulțumesc frumos !!!

The children wait for us everyday with a big smile ....

12/3/14

Forum theater, with other volunteers from Drăgășani

The second week of November, mainly we were training and learning about forum theater, how to achieve a play, and how to work in team to succeed. Also meeting the volunteers from Drăgășani, a city very near from here, that allow to us to have new connections for future activities.

We already spoke about forum theater in this blog, we made a play in school number four, some time ago.

This technique uses the power of theater to depict sensitive social issues within a community, where the audience becomes involved in the play and suggests alternative outcomes.

FORUM THEATER IT IS NOT ABOUT BECOME PROFESSIONAL ACTORS, IT IS ABOUT FIND BETTER WAYS AND CREATE CRITICAL THINKING.

Movies, crafts, draws, sport activities and games are some of the things that we use to do.

Spanish and portugues classes in the library

As well as we work in the kindergarten and the school, we have the opportunity to share something about our cultures in the library. So we are teaching our languages and at the same time we are learning Romanian. This is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge with the local people and to integrate in the community

Until now the classes are on Wednesday:

- At 05:00 Spanish class with Debora, Maxi or Libertad.

- At 06:00 Portuguese class with Alexandra and Diego.

Forum Theater.

Forum theater is a forum with the intention to make the people think in a critical way about their everyday problems, and how to be active at them. In this process the actors or audience members could stop a performance, often a short scene in which a character was being oppressed in some way. The audience would suggest different actions for the actors to carry out on-stage in an attempt to change the outcome of what they were seeing.

We did this activity with volunteers from different projects, in the school number four of Ramnicu Valcea. The topic of the play was the discrimination, and we had a really good participation of the audience, we are really happy that they managed the situation in a beautiful way.

Our work in Colonie Nuci

One of the best way to have a society with people who are clear about what they want and who trust in their instincts , is to encourage the children develop their skills . Each one is born with unique potentials, children develop their own personality styles, temperamental rhythms, moral values, and interests. Still parents exert strong influences on these qualities, as do peers, teachers, and society during the school years.

In our work, day by day we are learning about them and we are trying to teach them simply things. We support and attend the teachers, we try to help them in all the activities, and luckily they were receptive all the time.

Some activities that we made: drawings, songs, games, poetry, we help them with the lunch, cleanliness, handcrafts, etc. Time to time we have special days, for example this thursday we made funny face makeup to the kids. We are always thinking about new activities. Sharing ideas with others volunteers from another parts of România.
